Course Content

Programming-Based Web Site Design and Development
This course provides a structured and practical introduction to the design and development of modern websites using programming-based approaches. Students learn the core concepts of web development, beginning with an overview of the web’s evolution, types of websites, and essential development tools. Emphasis is placed on applying design principles such as color theory, typography, usability, accessibility, and responsive, mobile-first design to create user-friendly web experiences.Learners develop strong foundational skills in HTML and CSS for structuring and styling web pages, including modern layout techniques and the use of popular CSS frameworks. The course also introduces JavaScript to enhance interactivity through DOM manipulation, event handling, and basic form validation, along with exposure to widely used front-end libraries and frameworks.In addition, students gain experience with professional web development workflows, including version control, debugging, and testing. The course covers dynamic website development through server-side programming, database integration, and the use of APIs and RESTful services. Topics related to deployment, hosting, SEO, and ongoing website maintenance prepare students for real-world web publishing.The course culminates in a final project in which students plan, design, develop, and deploy a complete website, demonstrating both technical proficiency and design best practices.
